Avoid Fake E-Mails From Blizzard

Pling, you’ve got mail. You rush to your inbox and find an e-mail from Blizzard. Your blood starts pumping as questions rush through your mind: Have I been banned? Are my characters deleted? Calm down. Most of the time you’ve done diddly squat. The e-mail is fake and it’s from one of thousands of scammers who use this scam to steal account names; passwords; secret answers and cd-keys. I’ll provide you with a few very easy tips to avoid these e-mails and ultimately you won’t even notice them.

First, Blizzard almost never asks for a response unless you’ve contacted them first. Real e-mails from Blizzard are mostly un-reactive. They inform rather than demand response. If they demand response, then it’s because you’ve contacted them first, i.e. in the case of retrieving a hacked account.

Second, if Blizzard asks you to respond, then your account will most likely be made unavailable until you respond. In the case of a ban – or a suspension – your account will be made unaccessible. Thus, if you receive an e-mail while you’re hacking your way through Onyxia’s Lair, somethings not right. The solution is simple: DELETE THE E-MAIL.

Third, use Google. Like I also mentioned in an earlier post, Google remembers well. If you find yourself unsure about the contents of an e-mail, it’s likely someone else has wondered too. A quick Google search could save you from a severe headache, so do it!
